“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.”.

-John Wesley

Where does your family need to start its unique journey of generous giving and living?

What is generosity?

Generosity shouldn’t be viewed as simply an obligation or way to atone for some concept of guilt for having an abundance of resources, but should include intentionality, service, compassion, hospitality, AND financial giving.

Starting the journey can often be complicated, but it does not have to be. Gibborim Financial walks people through three steps to get started.

  1. Self-Assessment. Where are we in our generosity? Completing individual assessments will result in capturing a snapshot of each person’s generosity thinking and actions.
  2. Conversation with Peers. Attending a virtual or in person generosity event – locally or afar. Connecting with peers to hear ideas and have discussions around God and money without being asked to give can be very helpful in developing your induvial and family’s journey. Gibborim Financial recommends considering Generous Giving as the provider for this, if applicable.
  3. Getting Started. Engaging individual family members and the family as a whole sets the stage for a vibrant, effective, and inspiring generosity plan. Gibborim Financial can facilitate these discussions and useful exercises or empower the family too own their own. A few sample questions that typically generate meaningful family discussions and connections are:
    • How do we want to be cultivating gratitude as a family?
    • Are we letting anything move us away from our core values and how desire to operate?
    • How are we wired differently, and how does that impact our generosity?
    • What is your plan for supporting the organizations and causes your family cares about?
    • If we were to expand our generosity, what would be our priorities?
